Children’s worship & Lenten Fair
We will be holding a children’s service of celebration on Palm Sunday evening, March 25 at 6:30 p.m. in the Light of Christ sanctuary followed by the Lenten Fair, where there will be fun crafts to make and treats to eat that relate to the themes of Lent and Easter. Young children may bring their Easter baskets to hold their craft projects. We will be learning the songs and readings for this service during Sunday School.
Sunday School Picture
Sunday School classes are held in our Christian Education Building for children and youth ages 3 through high school. The Sunday School meets on Sunday mornings at 9:30. Students may register for Sunday School anytime throughout the year by calling Lynn Terry, Christian Education Director, at 610-861-0645 or by leaving a message with the church staff at 610- 691-2321 . Classes are held from September through early June. We use the Augsburg Fortress Curriculum through 8th grade. Our high school curriculum is teacher generated. Twice a month the classes , grouped by age, join together to sing new and old favorite Sunday School songs.
Students enroll in Light of Christ’s Confirmation program in the late summer before their 8th grade school year. Students are confirmed in November of their 10thgrade year. The confirmation program consists of a series of classes, participation, in an elective program, a retreat, and regular attendance at worship services and Sunday School. Please call Lynn Terry at 610-861-0645 to register.

“Brewing Theology!” – First Monday of Month
Join your friends for a wonderful discussion in a relaxing atmosphere with the ability to share in beverage and food! Brewing Theology is a night when sisters and brothers get together at TAPS located on 378 South of Bethlehem for informal discussions about faith and the world around us. We will come together on the first Monday of the Month at 6:00 PM (though some of us are there earlier to eat) and share time of fellowship together. Our gathering normally lasts until approximately 8:00 PM. This is a great place to ask questions and simply process the world around us through a faith perspective!
A Lenten Study
During the season of Lent, Pastor Jerry is leading a special study on Thursday mornings at 9:00 AM on our Light of Christ campus. This study takes a closer look at the culture and the world in which we live to help us discern how we might better proclaim the love of God in this time and this place. Only an open heart and mind is needed to actively participate in this study. It’s not too late to participate!
Women’s Bible Study – March 6 & 20
Women’s Bible Study, St.. Peter’s, Tuesday, March 6 and 20, 9:30 to 11:00 AM. Meeting at St. Peter’s in the Social Room on the parking lot level. The study used is from Gather, the magazine of the Women of the ELCA. Copies are available for each woman. The Bible story focus for the March sessions is the Luke 10: 30-37 story of the Good Samaritan. What does it mean to be a good Samaritan in the world of our faith community, our neighborhood, and our world? Those are some of the questions that the gathered women will consider together. Come again or come for the first time and experience the welcome and caring of the group. It is a time of Bible study, conversation, prayer, coffee/tea and snacks. There is a chair waiting for you.
REMINDER: SNOW POLICY: If Bethlehem Area School District has a delay or school is closed, there will be no Bible Study that Tuesday. If you are unsure about a cancellation, call the church office (610-867-0519) and listen to the message on the answering machine
